Hypnotherapy is a unique and effective form of therapy that is based around the unconscious thought processes. It provides relief from a variety of problems encouraging a new and healthier lifestyle.

The unconscious is the emotional and creative part of our mind, which acts as our driving force and determines the way we behave and respond to others.  This part of our mind does not actually think, as it is without reason or logic. It communicates with us via feelings, which decide our reactions. 

The main objective of the unconscious is survival. However, sometimes it can make mistakes as to what actually is a threat to survival and this is where problems or symptoms can arise.

A fear or phobia is an example, as these are normally irrational, e.g. fear of public speaking. This is irrational because what is the worst that can happen?

Consciously we may even try to reason away the fear. But the unconscious always wins in the end.  Hypnotherapy approaches the unconscious part of the mind because this is where the problem resides.

As we always end up doing what our unconscious wants, hypnotherapy can release you from your symptoms by reprogramming the unconscious and replacing existing negative ideas with new positive ones.

How many sessions?

The number of sessions will depend on the nature of the issue and your personal circumstances.  Some can be resolved in one or two sessions, others may take a little longer. 

How long are the sessions? 

Sessions last for one hour.  However the first session may last around one and a half hours as time will be spent getting to know you, answering any questions or concerns you have about hypnosis and discussing what your goal for therapy is.

Smoking cessation lasts approximately one and a half hours.  

How much does it cost?  

My standard fee per hourly session is £40.00.

Smoking cessation is £100.00.
